Chris Colling explains what you can expect when shopping at Adventure Spec from the UK, EU, USA and around the world

Greetings Adventure Spec Riders!

We've missed you this past month, thanks for being so patient. There's a lot been going on here are Adventure Spec HQ, here's an update about what to expect when you next shop with us.

We made a decision some time ago to close in January 2021 to give us time to get our EU distribution centre and company setup, to make our post-Brexit operations as smooth as possible for people on both sides of the border.

There is still some work to do but we are nearly there. We know that you have questions about what might have changed for the way you shop with us post-Brexit. Here's a round up of some of the main points that you should be aware of.

UPDATE ON EU STORE OPENING

Our company VAT number registration is progressing, however slower than expected. Our latest estimate is that our EU store will be trading by 15th April. We will post more updates as we get them and notify on email and social media once the store is fully operational. We really appreciate your patience. Thank you.

ARE YOUR STOCK LEVELS ACCURATE?

We have done a lot of work on our systems recently to give more accurate information on our stocks. Every product should show its stock status on its page and in the basket/checkout.

If the information shows....

1: In Stock

The item is in stock in the local warehouse

2: Temporarily out of stock - Estimated in stock date: ****-**-**

The item is not in stock but is on a Purchase or Manufacturing order confirmed by our suppliers or factory.

The website will allow an order to be placed. The date is the estimated shipping date quoted by the supplier plus the usual transit time. These may change but we're doing our best to keep these as accurate as possible. The estimated in stock date when you place your order will be on your order confirmation email.

3: Temporarily out of stock - Lead Time approximately: ** days

The item is not in stock and is not on an existing supplier order. The number of days is the normal order lead time from the supplier. The website will not allow an order to be placed directly but will allow a preorder to be requested - use the button and leave a message. Our team will reply back with an ETA and a quote.

WHAT ABOUT A BACKORDER THAT I HAVE PLACED?

Any EU customers with existing backorders or exchanges will now have their exchange or order supplied from within the EU, so you won't incur any charges for that.

Phew, that's a lot of information. Thank you for reading it all, we know it's not the most exciting but hopefully it has given you an idea of the amount of work going on behind the scenes to adjust to a post-Brexit world.

It's been an eventful 12 months but we are more confident than ever in our ability to help you get the most out of your adventure riding. It won't be long before the trails start to dry out and hopefully the worldwide lockdown begins to ease up.

We are really excited to be able to start to share with you some of the new gear that we've been developing, from luggage to hard parts to genuinely game changing motorcycle clothing.

Until then, thanks again for being so patient.

Stay safe.
