Hi!
Next week is our final launch of 2025.
The much requested new Mongolia Jacket and Pant 2.0.
Today I'm going to give you a preview and early access to our latest adventure film.

Problems and solutions
Today I want to rewind almost ten years.
Way back to a pivotal moment in the Adventure Spec story, to the point at which we decided to take everything we had learned selling other people's gear, and start making our own. Because while our community of adventure riders had started to be served well, there was still room to improve.
Still problems to be solved.
And we had solutions.
This story started with an audacious goal.
Could we throw our hat in with some of the biggest names in motorsport, on the toughest motorcycle race on the planet?
Could we create a riding jacket and pant from scratch that would not just survive but excel in the Dakar Rally?
We threw down the challenge and Lyndon Poskitt picked it up.
And then absolutely smashed it.

Long time subscribers of this newsletter don't need me to wax lyrical about Lyndon's Dakar exploits, they have reached legendary status within our community. If you don't know what I'm talking about, start with this film.

Road miles
The thing about the Dakar Rally that they don't show on TV, is that HUGE amounts of it take place on the road.
In 2017 the longest single liaison section was a whopping 492km from Uyuni, Bolivia to Salta, Argentina.
Google informs me that for the whole rally (8,782km), 3,500 km were road liaison stages.
When we designed the Mongolia (and Atacama) Jacket and Pant for Lyndon, we thought we were building a desert rally suit. In fact we made a hardcore adventure touring suit, we just hadn't realised it yet.
But it didn't take long for you guys to catch on.

Michael in his Mongolia v1 gear on the TET
Over the last decade the Mongolia lines have found a home with riders who appreciate what it takes to stay cool on the trails and road, and how to layer up when the time comes.
Adventure riders are hard on their gear, riding pants especially, and to see Michael's original version 1 Mongolia Pant still going strong after 24,000km, albeit with a few repairs, is testament to what we learned with Lyndon in that hard Dakar.

Michael's Mongolia Pant patched and still going strong!
2025 has been the year of the 2.0.
The Supershirt 2.0, Linesman Jacket 2.0, Linesman Pant 2.0 and next week it will be time for the Mongolia Jacket and Pant 2.0.

Features retired, features added
We've taken this moment to switch the dial and fully embrace the adventure touring side of the Mongolia gear.
Features that we didn't need have been retired.
You probably don't need the Mongolia Jacket to be cut to stretch over your rucksack so you can pin race numbers to your back.
You probably would appreciate some more pockets though.
And some extra air vents on the pant.
And somewhere to put your hydration bladder.

You've also asked us why we don't make it in a lighter colour to help reflect the heat.
Well we've done that too.
There's more to tell you, but I know your time is valuable.
Next week we launch the new Mongolia Jacket & Pant 2.0 along with our latest Trans Morocco trail adventure film.
But you get to watch it first.
Enjoy.
