The Linesman Vest

Really?

Hi!

My friend Chris likes his layers.

Or let me put this another way.

He absolutely hates being cold on his bike.

That's hate with a capital 'H'.

So, a few years ago when we were product testing the new Gravel gear, and I saw that he was wearing both his Gravel and Linesman Jackets together, well I figured that's kinda weird but hey, it's just Chris being Chris.

Supershirt + Mid Layer + Linesman Jacket + Gravel Jacket = toasty Chris

But here's the thing.

We recently received a (lovely) Helpdesk message that referred to a customer enjoying his Linesman Vest layered up with his Gravel Jacket.

I know, my head was scratching too, we don't make a Linesman Vest.

We do make a Linesman Jacket with removable sleeves, designed to be worn with the Supershirt when it gets hot.

Was I reading about a new layering approach that had totally passed me by?

Here's the message...

"Immediately impressed by the design, fit and finish of the Gravel Jacket. Lightweight, comfortable, everything you need and nothing that you don’t. I really appreciate the minimalist approach and clean look in its design.

A great combo is my Supershirt, Linesman Vest, and Gravel Jacket sans armour. I just start peeling off layers as the day warms or the ride becomes more challenging.

I wear size 42-44 and the Large fits perfectly. Would recommend."

Boom, Larry has opened my eyes to an added layer of versatility within the Linesman Jacket.

He has in effect turned the Linesman Jacket into a gilet, or lightweight body warmer to add an extra layer of warmth under his Gravel Jacket.

When Larry removed the Flow armour and armour pockets from the Gravel Jacket he realised he had extra room for more layers underneath.

Smart guy.

Chris, I'm sorry I ever doubted you.

Oh, and what lovely feedback about the Gravel gear, it's wonderful to hear stories like this, thank you Larry.

Power to the layers.

🙂
