Why is the new Linesman Jacket so yellow?
It's all about the Kevlar content

Hello!

Just a quick message to let you know that our Linesman Jacket and Atacama Pant are now in stock in our UK and EU stores, and will be in our USA store in about a week.

Demand for these Adventure Spec classics has been high so we are excited to have them back on the shelves.

When I was riding in Spain this Spring most of the team had Linesman Jackets on, Wil and Noel were lucky enough to have the new versions that feature a higher Kevlar content in the abrasion panels. This gives the jacket a bit more of a robust feel to it.

We’ve been asked if we can do the abrasion panels in another colour, and unfortunately the answer is no. Here’s why.

Kevlar yarn is yellow. It can’t be dyed. So the reason the new Linesman Jacket has a lighter colour to the abrasion panels is that the Kevlar content has increased. I’ll let you decide if that’s a good thing or not.

One of the best features of the jacket when riding in the heat was the ability to remove the sleeves, which works wonderfully with The Supershirt underneath it.

“But what’s going on with The Supershirt?”

Good news, we are on schedule to launch The Supershirt this summer! I will keep you posted.

And if you have been waiting for the Atacama Pant to arrive, then thank you for being so patient.

This was one of Adventure Spec’s first products when we stepped into manufacturing riding gear and they’ve been a real winner.

Originally designed to help Lyndon Poskitt complete the Dakar Malle Moto class, they have found a niche with rally riders and those who take their trail riding very seriously.

If you are riding in hot weather and are not likely to get water down your boots then they could be the perfect adventure riding pant for you.
