Occasionally, you come across a bit of kit that ends up being a ‘before-the-thing’ and ‘after-the-thing’ moment.
I remember the first time I rode with a bluetooth intercom.
I’d dismissed it as a bit of tech gadgetry for a long time, but after the first 10 minutes of laughing into my helmet as I cracked jokes with my buddies on the trail, I knew there would be no going back.
Life before comms, and life after comms.
Today I’m going to give you a heads up on another one of those moments. Unfortunately, it’s nowhere near as sexy as a helmet-to-helmet intercom. My job would be a lot easier if it was.

The first time I rode in braces was while test riding the early Singletrack Pant prototype.
I’d always thought that I did a decent job at hitching my riding pants up with a simple belt and buckle, but it didn’t take me long to realise that I had been missing out on another level of riding comfort for many, many years.
It turns out that when you wear a pair of braces/suspenders, your riding pants stay exactly where they are meant to be.
Both when you are sitting, and standing.
Which means no more saggy bum after an hour or so of sitting in the saddle.
And your knee armour stops drooping down your leg.
