Greg's measurements



Stand with your back against a wall and ask a friend to pop a book on the top of your head. Whilst they hold the book steady and level, duck and step away from the wall. You can then mark where the book touched your head and measure from the floor to the mark.
Use a set of weighing scales or guess!
Stand with your arms stretched out to the side. Wrap the tape around the fullest part of the chest - the tape should be horizontal. Take a short breath and hold to naturally fill your lungs.
This is the narrowest part of the waist, usually immediately above your iliac crest or the top of your hip bones.
From the natural waistline to the centre of the knee cap.
Many riders like to wear trousers or pants lower than the natural waist position.The easiest way to measure this is to wear a pair of jeans and measure around the top of the belt line where you feel most comfortable.
Ask the person being measured to hold the end of the tape to the base of the crotch. Run the tape down the leg and measure the distance to the top of the ankle bone.
Wrap the tape around the fullest area of the hips and bum. If a friend is measuring this for you or you are measuring someone else it’s worth measuring to the side to save possible embarrassment.
Stand up straight, raise your arms to the side and bend it at the elbow. Measure from the spine, down the upper arm, around the elbow to the wrist.
We use this measurement to determine the length of back armour.
Measure from the nape of the neck, the prominent bone (point of the C7 vertebra) down to an imaginary line drawn between the top of the hip bones.
Wrap the tape around your neck, just below your adams apple. Leave a finger behind the tape as you measure to ensure a comfortable fit.
Pull the tape between the legs up to the crotch, then wrap it around the fullest part of the thigh. Leave a finger under the tape with this measurement to ensure its not too tight.
Measure around the fullest part of the calf. Leave a finger under the tape with this measurement to ensure its not too tight.
With your arms down to the side, measure around the fullest / meatiest part of the upper arm. Leave a finger under the tape with this measurement to ensure it’s not too tight.
Measure around the palm inside the thumb. Measure from the tip of the longest finger to the base of the palm. Use the higher measurement.
